I had enough this week to "fill" up the Thumlers so I'm starting it up. "Fill" because it's probably a little over half with rocks and the rest with ceramic media.

It's the end of a week for the rotaries so I check the 12lb and 3lb rotary tumblers. I'm trying to get enough to fill the 18lb Thumlers vibe because I have some bigger rocks I want to polish and they may not fit in the LotO.

I went on vacation for a month and I had the tumblers shut down. I felt it was about time to get them going again! :)

The weather is warming up... (somewhat - this is still Ohio). It's time to get going again.

I'm "probably" going to wrap up my videos for the year. I will tumble until it gets cold. I just talk a little about what got me into rock tumbling and show off a few of my favorites since I started.

Step 4 is complete. The rocks are cleaned up and some final words for anyone getting into rock tumbling!

I clean off the rocks after step 2 and start them off in step 3 PrePolish. I also discuss a minor disaster with my 12 lb barrel.

We have enough rocks ready to move on to Step 2. I also talk about vibratory tumblers. If you have one this is where you would switch from the rotary and put the rocks into the vibratory to finish off.

I checked out the rocks. We have about half a barrel full of rocks ready to go on to step 2. I'm thinking one more week and we'll be ready to go on.....

I check out the rocks after 7 days of Step 1 and while there were some ready to move on to step 2 there weren't enough to fill the barrel so we continue in Step 1 for another week.

I took a batch of finished rocks and ran them through step 4 again.... only I added a tiny amount of 120/220 grit. Let's see what it did!

Now that we have our materials we're going to start the tumbling process.
